Mighty Zulu Nation Rocks Summer in Abu Dhabi 2009

The vibrancy of the Zulu nation, South Africa’s largest and most recognised tribe with around three million people is attracting crowds to the Summer in Abu Dhabi family carnival running at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in the UAE capital from 1st July to August 15.
Performing daily at the international mega event’s Culture & Heritage Island, the Mighty Zulu Nation Theatre Company, direct from their KwaZulu Natal homeland are introducing visitors to a kaleidoscope of dynamic traditional Zulu culture.

Powerful performances include harmonised singing, the splendour of traditional dance sequences and the pulsating Zulu drums which once summoned its warriors to the forces of the tribe’s most infamous ancestor, King Shaka Zulu.

The amazing voices of the cast, with their brilliant harmony, are captivating audiences, explained Faisal Al Sheikh, Events Section Head, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), which is presenting Summer in Abu Dhabi. The Mighty Zulu Nation cast is not just performing at Summer in Abu Dhabi, its dancers and musicians are using their skills to introduce youngsters attending the family carnival to music, drama and son and sharing their cultural experiences through a series of workshops.

The workshops fit perfectly into our ethos, said troup leader . We want to share our culture and use it to engage young people and build with them a sense of global community.
